π¦πͺπ» Say no to others, yes to yourself π¦πͺπ»
7. August 2026Why is it actually so damn hard to say that little three-letter word? No.
When you have a big heart and lots of empathy, it is incredibly easy to always say yes. Yes to helping, yes to listening, yes to going the extra mile, and yes to pleasing everyone else. You want so much to share your warmth and good spirits.
But if you are not careful, you end up wearing yourself out completely on other people's terms. Sometimes we say yes to people who do not actually deserve our energy at all. We say yes to listening to people's complaints, yes to waiting for indecisive men/women who are stuck behind their own façades, and yes to putting up with being overlooked. Every single time we do that, we are actually betraying ourselves a little.
But I have found my #sommerfuglestyrke now. And I have learned that saying no to others is very often the most beautiful and necessary YES to yourself. When you say no to sitting on the sidelines, you say yes to your own worth. When you say no to dishonest people and cheap façades, you say yes to living your own life. When you say no to spending your energy on people who drain you, you say yes to protecting your own big heart.
It is not about being selfish or harsh. It is about pure and simple self-respect. Your heart should be a safe haven for those who want the absolute best for you, not a revolving door where people can just come and go as they please. You do not owe anyone your patience when they do not have the courage to choose you fully.
So today, with the weekend just around the corner, I encourage you to listen to your gut. Take a deep breath and remember who you are. You are strong, you are independent, and you have so infinitely much to offer.
Set your boundaries with your head held high and a smile on your face. Protect your own amazing energy, and remember the most important rule of all:
Say no to others, and say a huge, well-deserved YES to yourself! 💪🦋
