By default, we show normal Google ads and use Google Analytics. You can change the two choices independently here. The choices only apply to the device and browser where you save them.
Your choices are stored locally in the browser. They are remembered until you change them, choose Use defaults, or clear your browser data.
Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small pieces of information that a website stores in the browser. The site also uses local browser storage for features and choices that need to be remembered.
Necessary cookies
We use a session cookie for login, security, and forms. It lasts until the browser session ends. If you choose to remember your login, an additional cookie is stored for up to one month. These cookies are necessary for the selected features and cannot be disabled on this page.
Settings stored in the browser
We store your choices for ads and analytics, along with functional choices such as message display, sound, music, full screen, and some game settings, locally in the browser. They are stored until you change them or clear your browser data and are not sent automatically with page requests.
Temporary information
Temporary browser storage is used for information such as unsent message drafts, notification sound playback, and some display choices. The information is normally deleted when the tab or browser session is closed.
Push notifications
The browser stores technical information for push notifications and the latest notification. If you enable push, the browser also stores a push subscription. You can stop notifications and clear the local information in your browser settings.
External services
Google provides ads and analytics on the site. Your choices above determine whether we request normal or non-personalized ads and whether Google Analytics is loaded. Google may store or read information in the browser and receive technical information when these services are used. Read more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services and in Google's privacy policy.
Form protection
Selected forms use Google reCAPTCHA to protect the site from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA is only loaded on pages where the protection is used. Read more in Google's privacy policy.
Videos from YouTube and Facebook
The site may load preview images from YouTube and Facebook. The YouTube player uses privacy-enhanced mode and is not loaded until you choose to play a video, while Facebook videos may be shown in an embedded player. The provider may receive technical information and store or read information in the browser when an image or player is loaded.
Maps
If an image has a visible location, a map may be shown using Leaflet files from unpkg and map tiles from OpenStreetMap. The services receive standard technical information when the map is loaded.
Firebase and push
When you enable push notifications, we use Google Firebase to create and maintain the browser's push subscription. A technical push token is linked to your account and stored by us together with the IP address and browser information so notifications can be delivered. You can turn off notifications in your browser settings.
Payment
If you purchase a membership or open the payment portal, you are redirected to Stripe. Stripe's own site may use cookies and browser storage for payment, security, and fraud prevention.
How to clear the information
The Use defaults button only removes your choices for ads and analytics and restores normal ads and Google Analytics. You can clear other cookies and local browser storage in your browser settings. This may sign you out and reset functional choices. Login cookies are deleted when you sign out.
